Towing Middlesex County NJ: one line, Rahway to Mercer
Towing Middlesex County NJ · county-wide dispatch from Linden · $149 flat booking fee · $129 online
Middlesex County is twenty-five towns strung along the Turnpike, the Parkway, Route 1 and Route 18. Our yard sits in Linden, a few minutes over the Union County line, so the north end is close and the south end takes longer.

One call for towing anywhere in Middlesex County, NJ, without guessing which town you are in
Towing Middlesex County NJ is a NJ towing services provider that takes the call for all twenty-five Middlesex towns on (908) 666-3168, picks the truck closest to you, tells you honestly how far off it is, and charges the same flat booking fee whether you broke down in Carteret or in Cranbury.
Middlesex County does not look like one place from the driver's seat. It is a warehouse belt in the north, a college city in the middle, river bridges in the east and quiet townships to the south, all stitched together by Route 1, Route 18 and the Turnpike.
What it shares is a set of roads that break the same cars in the same ways. We built a single dispatch line around those roads, so towing Middlesex County NJ drivers can rely on starts with one number rather than a phone book. Call (908) 666-3168, or book online and pay $129 instead of $149.
You give a road, we work out the town
Route 1 passes through Woodbridge, Edison, New Brunswick, North Brunswick, South Brunswick and Plainsboro in under half an hour. A stranded driver rarely knows which of those he is in.
Tell the dispatcher the road, the direction and the last sign you saw. The municipality is her job, and it does not change the price.
The nearest truck, not the yard, sets the clock
Our yard is in Linden, which makes Carteret and Avenel roughly eight minutes away and Old Bridge closer to thirty. When a truck is already out working the middle of the county, the clock starts from that truck instead.
The dispatcher reads you a window from wherever the closest unit is. If the answer is a longer wait, you hear it before you agree.
A flat fee that ignores municipal lines
The $149 booking fee covers the truck reaching you and the hook-up, anywhere in the county. The mileage covers the trip to your shop or driveway and is quoted on the call.
Nothing is added for crossing from Highland Park into New Brunswick, or from Sayreville into South Amboy.
Licensed, insured, and photographed at both ends
Every job is covered by our New Jersey licence and insurance. The driver photographs the vehicle before loading and after unloading, wherever in Middlesex the trip starts and ends.
You get an itemized receipt with the business name on it, which is what an insurer or a roadside plan will ask to see.
Say the road and the nearest cross street. The dispatcher handles the rest of the map.
Call (908) 666-3168The county, town by townHow we cover Middlesex County from a yard just over the Union County line
We treat Middlesex County as one territory split into six working zones, run every call through one dispatcher who can see where each truck is, and say plainly that the north end is minutes away while the south and west take longer from Linden.
Linden sits on the Rahway River, and the county line with Woodbridge and Carteret is a short drive south. That geography gives the north end of Middlesex the quickest service we offer anywhere.
The rest of the county fans out below it along three spines: Route 1 to the southwest, Route 9 and Route 35 to the southeast, and Route 18 and the Turnpike straight down the middle. Every call gets placed on one of those spines, and the nearest truck on it takes the job.
The north end: Woodbridge, Carteret and the Rahway line
Carteret, Avenel, Port Reading and Colonia are our closest Middlesex ground, reachable from the yard in about eight to twelve minutes. Metropark, Woodbridge Center and the Turnpike Exit 11 and 12 area sit just beyond.
When a call comes from here, a truck usually leaves Linden directly. That is the one part of the county where the yard itself is the nearest truck.
The middle: Edison, Perth Amboy, New Brunswick
Edison is about twenty minutes from the yard, Perth Amboy about sixteen and New Brunswick close to twenty-seven. These are the busiest towns in the county, with Menlo Park Mall, Raritan Center, the hospitals and Rutgers.
Trucks working this band often finish one job and take the next without going home, which is why the dispatcher checks the board before quoting a time.
The south and west: honestly farther
East Brunswick, Old Bridge and North Brunswick run about thirty minutes from Linden. Monroe, Cranbury, Plainsboro and the far reaches of South Brunswick take longer than that.
We do not pretend otherwise. If the wait from our nearest truck is long, the dispatcher says the number, and you decide whether it works for you.
Wherever you are in the county, ask how far the nearest truck is. You get a straight answer before you commit.
Ask for a drive timeEmergency towing across Middlesex County: crashes, dead lanes and night calls
For a crash, a car dead in a travel lane or a breakdown in the middle of the night anywhere in Middlesex County, call (908) 666-3168; a live dispatcher sends the closest truck while you are still talking and prices it the same as a daytime call.
Middlesex has some of the heaviest traffic in New Jersey, and the emergencies follow the traffic. Rear-end crashes on Route 1 near the malls, spinouts on the Route 18 curves along the Raritan, and stalls on the I-287 climb into Piscataway. The line is staffed at every hour, and an emergency is priced exactly like a planned tow.
After a collision
Police clear the scene; you choose where the car goes. Tell the dispatcher the body shop, and the driver takes it there instead of to a yard that bills by the day.
Photos are taken before the car moves, which helps when the adjuster calls.
Stopped in a live lane
Hazards on, get out on the side away from traffic if it is safe, and stand behind a barrier. Give the road, the direction and the last exit or cross street.
On Route 1, Route 9 and Route 18 our truck comes to you. Turnpike and Parkway shoulders are served by the Authority's authorized garages. Book with us and we take the car from the exit or the garage's lot.
Two in the morning on a county road
A dead battery in a Rutgers lot or a flat on a dark stretch of Route 516 is still a call we answer live. There is no overnight surcharge and no voicemail.
If a jump or a spare will get you home, the dispatcher sends that first.
Floods and storms along the Raritan
Low roads near the river in New Brunswick, Sayreville and South River take water fast in a heavy storm. A car that sat in water rides a flatbed and nobody turns the key.
Tell the dispatcher how high the water came, and the right truck is sent.
An emergency is priced like any other call. Get safe first, then dial.
Emergency dispatchWhat happens on the callTowing and roadside services available everywhere in Middlesex County, NJ
Across Middlesex County we run local, emergency, flatbed, wheel-lift, accident, commercial and fleet, heavy-duty, motorcycle and long-distance towing, winch-outs, and four roadside jobs priced flat: jump start, flat tire change, car lockout and fuel delivery.
Town-to-town towing
A dead car in Metuchen to a mechanic in Edison, or a Spotswood driveway to a dealer on Route 9. Booking fee plus the miles, quoted on the call.
Emergency towing
Route 1 fender-benders, Route 18 spinouts, a stall on the Victory Bridge approach. The closest truck is released as soon as you say yes.
Flatbed towing
AWD, EVs, lowered and luxury cars, and anything damaged. All four wheels ride on the deck, strapped at the tires.
Accident towing
Winched if needed, photographed for the claim and delivered to the body shop you name, anywhere in the county or beyond it.
Fleet & heavy-duty
Box trucks, buses and tractors in Raritan Center, Carteret, Hadley Road and the Route 130 warehouses. Accounts on net terms.
Jump, tire, lockout, fuel
One flat price each with no mileage. Commuter lots at Metropark and Metuchen, campus lots at Rutgers, driveways in Old Bridge.
Winch out & recovery
Off the shoulder into the grass on I-287, down an embankment in Sayreville, stuck in snow on a Monroe side road. Pulled back and checked.
Long distance towing
From the county to the shore, Philadelphia, New York or another state on one flatbed, with tolls built into the quote.
Each service has a full page: emergency towing, flatbed towing, accident towing, heavy duty towing and roadside assistance. You do not have to name the service on the phone. Describe the problem and the dispatcher matches it to a truck.
Not sure what you need? Explain what the car is doing and let dispatch pick.

We split Middlesex County into six working zones, each with its own roads, landmarks and drive time from Linden, and every zone has its own page describing which calls come in there and how the trucks reach them.
Woodbridge Township and Carteret
The north end, closest to our yard: Iselin, Avenel, Colonia, Fords, Port Reading, Sewaren and Carteret. Turnpike Exits 11 and 12, Parkway Exits 127 to 131, Metropark and Woodbridge Center.
Edison, Metuchen and Piscataway
The Route 1 and I-287 core: Menlo Park Mall, Raritan Center and the convention center, JFK University Medical Center, downtown Metuchen and the Rutgers Busch and Livingston campuses.
Perth Amboy, South Amboy and Sayreville
The river mouth: the Victory Bridge on Route 35, the Driscoll Bridge on the Parkway, the Outerbridge approach, Route 9 through Sayreville and the terminals along the Arthur Kill.
New Brunswick, Highland Park and North Brunswick
The county seat and its neighbors: Route 18 along the river, the College Avenue and Cook/Douglass campuses, Robert Wood Johnson and Saint Peter's hospitals, and Route 1 south through North Brunswick.
East Brunswick, Old Bridge and Spotswood
The southeast suburbs: Route 18 past Brunswick Square mall, Turnpike Exit 9, Route 9 through Old Bridge and County Route 516 across the townships, about thirty minutes from the yard.
South Plainfield, Middlesex and Dunellen
The western edge: Route 28 through Middlesex borough and Dunellen, the Hadley Road industrial parks in South Plainfield, and I-287 where it swings north toward Somerset County.
Pick your part of the county for the local detail, or just call and name the road.
Call (908) 666-3168Full Middlesex service areaThe Middlesex County highways that produce the most tows, and how each one is handled
We dispatch directly to Route 1, Route 9, Route 18, Route 27, Route 35, Route 440 and I-287 across Middlesex County; the Turnpike and Parkway shoulders are handled by the Authority's authorized garages, and we pick the car up from the exit or the garage's lot.
Route 1 from Woodbridge to Plainsboro
The county's commercial spine, passing Woodbridge Center, Menlo Park Mall and the long run of dealers and shopping centers through Edison, North Brunswick and South Brunswick. Jughandles, left-lane stalls and parking-lot fender-benders fill most of the calls. Name the nearest store or jughandle and the direction, and the truck comes in from the right side of the divider.
Route 18 from Piscataway to Old Bridge
Route 18 crosses the Raritan into New Brunswick, runs along the river past the College Avenue campus, then heads southeast past Brunswick Square mall and Turnpike Exit 9 into Old Bridge. The riverside curves and the merges near the Route 1 interchange see regular crashes. Most of the road has usable shoulders, and our trucks work it directly.
I-287 from Edison into Piscataway and beyond
I-287 begins at Turnpike Exit 10 in Edison and climbs north through Piscataway and South Plainfield toward Somerset County. Heavy trucks share the lanes with commuters, and overheating and tire failures are common on warm days. Give the dispatcher the direction and the last exit number so the truck enters from the correct ramp.
NJ Turnpike Exits 8A to 12
Five Turnpike interchanges sit in Middlesex: 8A near Cranbury, 9 at Route 18, 10 at I-287, 11 at the Parkway and 12 at Carteret. On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price.
Garden State Parkway and the Driscoll Bridge
The Parkway crosses the Raritan on the Driscoll Bridge between Sayreville and Woodbridge, then passes Exits 127 to 131 on its way north. The bridge has little room to stop, and the shoulders belong to the Authority's garages. Once the car is off at an exit or in the garage's lot, our truck takes it wherever you choose.
Routes 9, 35 and 440 in the east
Route 9 runs from Woodbridge through Sayreville and Old Bridge; Route 35 crosses the Victory Bridge between Perth Amboy and Sayreville; Route 440 links Perth Amboy and Woodbridge to the Outerbridge Crossing. Tractor traffic to the Arthur Kill terminals makes heavy-duty calls routine here. Cars get a flatbed or wheel-lift, rigs get a heavy-duty unit.
On a Middlesex highway now? Get behind a barrier, then call with the road, the direction and the last exit.
Call from the roadsideWhat towing costs in Middlesex County: the same booking fee in every town
A tow anywhere in Middlesex County costs a flat $149 booking fee for dispatch and hook-up, or $129 booked online, plus mileage to the destination you choose, quoted on the call; roadside jobs are one flat price each and there are no after-hours or fuel surcharges.
A county-wide service needs a county-wide price, so the booking fee does not rise because you are in Monroe instead of Metuchen. What varies is the mileage, because a tow to a shop two blocks away is not the same trip as a tow to a dealer across the county.
The dispatcher asks where the car is going before quoting. If you do not have a shop yet, say so, and the quote is for the nearest one that fits what the car needs.
| What | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Booking fee by phone | $149 | Dispatch and hook-up, any hour |
| Booking fee online | $129 | $20 off when you book it yourself |
| Mileage to your destination | Quoted on the call | Before the truck moves. You pick the shop. |
| Jump start · tire · lockout · fuel | One flat price each | No mileage. Tried first when it can solve it. |
| Winch or dollies | Only if the car will not roll | Named before the work, you decide |
| Night, weekend, holiday, fuel surcharge | None | 3 a.m. costs what 3 p.m. costs |
| Storage or release fee | None | The car goes to your shop, not a yard |
What changes the total
The distance from pickup to drop-off, first of all. Then the truck: an AWD car or an EV needs a flatbed, while a bus or a tractor needs a heavy-duty unit priced on the call.
Then the condition. A car that rolls and steers is a quick load, while one in a ditch may need a winch first, and you hear that before the driver starts.
What you will not be charged
No surcharge for nights, Sundays or holidays. No fuel line on the receipt.
No extra for a passenger riding along, no storage fee and no release fee on a car delivered where you asked. Full detail is on the prices page.
Ask for the full number before you agree. It costs nothing to hear.

Questions Middlesex County drivers ask before they call for a tow
Most questions come down to how long the truck will take from Linden, whether the price changes between towns, what happens on the Turnpike and Parkway, and whether we tow to the shop you choose; the answers are below.
Do you really tow in every town in Middlesex County?
Yes, all twenty-five, from Carteret and Woodbridge in the north to Cranbury and Plainsboro in the south. One dispatcher on (908) 666-3168 takes the call for all of them and sends the nearest truck.
Where are your trucks coming from?
Our yard is in Linden, in Union County, a short drive north of the Middlesex line. Trucks that are already out on jobs in the county are often closer than the yard, and the dispatcher checks before quoting a time.
How long will it take to get to me in the south end of the county?
From the yard, East Brunswick, North Brunswick and Old Bridge are roughly thirty minutes, and Monroe or Cranbury longer. If a truck is already working nearby the wait can be shorter. You hear the honest estimate before you agree.
Is it faster if I am near Woodbridge or Carteret?
Yes. Carteret and Avenel are about eight minutes from the yard and Woodbridge about twelve, so the north end of Middlesex gets our quickest arrivals.
Does the price go up if I am farther from Linden?
The booking fee does not: $149 by phone or $129 when you book online, in every Middlesex town. Mileage is measured from your car to where it is going, and it is quoted on the call.
I do not know which town I am in. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Route 1 and Route 18 cross several towns within a few miles. Give the road, the direction and a store, exit or cross street, and the dispatcher places you on the map.
My car broke down on the Turnpike near Exit 9. Can you come get it?
On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price.
What about the Garden State Parkway on the Driscoll Bridge?
Turnpike and Parkway shoulders are served by the Authority's authorized garages. Book with us and we take the car from the exit or the garage's lot. Once the car is at the Sayreville or Woodbridge side of the bridge, our truck takes over.
Towing near me in Middlesex County: how the closest truck is found
When you search for towing near me anywhere in Middlesex County, what matters is the nearest available truck rather than the nearest office, and our dispatcher checks every unit working the county before telling you how long the wait will be.
A towing near me search in Middlesex returns dozens of listings, many with addresses that are only mailboxes. The address that matters is the one on the truck that is actually closest, and only a dispatcher watching the trucks can tell you that.
Near me in the north end
In Carteret, Avenel, Colonia or Iselin, near really is near: the yard is about eight to twelve minutes away. Metropark and Woodbridge Center are only a little farther.
Near me in the middle of the county
In Edison, Metuchen, Perth Amboy or New Brunswick, the yard is roughly sixteen to twenty-seven minutes out. A truck finishing a job nearby can shorten that, and the dispatcher checks.
Near me in the south and west
East Brunswick, Old Bridge and North Brunswick are about thirty minutes from Linden, and the southern townships longer. You get the real figure on the call, not a slogan.
What to say so the closest truck finds you
A road and a cross street, a store or campus lot, or an exit number and direction. Add your vehicle and where it should go, and the quote follows in the same call.

Why one Middlesex County towing line beats calling a different garage in every town
Because a breakdown in Middlesex rarely respects a town line, and one dispatcher on {{phone}} can see every truck working the county, pick the closest one, and quote the same flat fee in Sayreville that you would pay in Piscataway.
Most people stuck in Middlesex County do not know which borough they are standing in. The Route 1 shoulder changes towns every mile, and the Route 18 ramps cross three municipalities in ten minutes. Call us and the only thing you need is a road and a cross street; the dispatcher does the geography. You can also book online and pay $129 instead of $149. The service area walks the county town by town and the prices page prints the full bill.
